Group Work with Adoption Triad Members Training Description
The group work with adoption triad members training presents information on the benefits of adoption support and therapy groups for adoptees, adoptive parents, and birth parents. A discussion of how groups are unique to help adoption triad members with adoption issues of relinquishment, loss, difficult conversations, shame, and fitting-in is part of the presentation. The group work with adoption triad members training reviews different types of groups (support, discussion, task-centered, and process) and the role of the group leader for each type of group. Exercises and interventions for group work are included in the training. Information on starting an adoption group, marketing adoption groups, and locating existing adoption groups will be presented.
