Adoptees sharing their stories has made a tremendous impact on how I approach my adoption counseling and training on adoption issues. So it is no surprise that I tremendously enjoyed reading the over 40 adoptees who share their hearts, thoughts, and experiences in essays, poems, and art in this book. The adoption “Flip the Script” movement is bravely sharing that being adopted can be complex, painful, and not always the positive spin society wants to portray about adoptees’ experiences. I read a lot of books written by adopted individuals and this is one of my favorite books to date. Adult Adoptee Anthology – Flip the Script is highly recommended for adoption triad members and adoption professionals.
